Eau Claire Area Stroke Support Group
Free

Meets every third Thursday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m. The stroke support group provides support, education and encouragement to survivors of stroke, their families and friends — allowing them to move forward with their lives.

Call 715-717-4315 to register and to be added to our monthly invitation mailing list, or simply show up to attend a meeting. A free lunch is provided. Location: 3D Community Health, located on the first floor of the Professional Plaza Building (2125 Heights Drive, Eau Claire)


Cardiac Nursing Education Conference

This educational conference was created by nurses, for nurses and other interested health care professionals involved or interested in the care of individuals with cardiac conditions.


QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer

IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT SUICIDE PREVENTION QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer. Do you know someone who might be at risk for suicide? Two opportunities to join us to learn the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. Learn to recognize the warning signs that someone may be thinking about suicide and how to help them.

Eau Claire Partner’s Breast Cancer Information and Support Group

This group offers regular, free, open lectures to the public. Programs are designed for women who have had breast cancer, their families and friends, or for anyone with an interest in breast cancer. The group features speakers from a variety of disciplines providing women with support, information and resources.


Childbirth Series

This four-week series is designed to prepare first-time parents for labor and delivery as well as bringing your new baby home. We strongly encourage you to register early. Classes should be completed at least one month before your due date. Call to register, 715-717-3100.

Childbirth Breastfeeding Class

This class is an in-depth look at the art of breastfeeding for those who are planning to breastfeed their new baby or are still undecided. The class is taught by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants and covers the benefits of breastfeeding, getting the baby to the breast, common problems and returning to work. Childbirth Siblings Class

This class is held for children who are expecting a baby brother or sister. The class is designed to help prepare 3 to 10 year olds for the changes that will be occurring in their family. Children are asked to bring a doll or teddy bear and be accompanied by an adult. Children will tour Maternity Department, practice diapering, burping and holding a baby. American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR

This course teaches the skills of Health Care Provider CPR for victims of all ages, use of AED on adult and children, and relief of foreign body airway obstruction in responsive and unresponsive victims. For upcoming class dates, call 715.717.4265.


Joint Renew Camp

If you’re having joint replacement surgery, Sacred Heart Hospital invites you to attend our free educational program. Call for dates or to register. 715-717-4133.  All classes take place 9 am to 11:30 am.


Chippewa Valley Ostomy Association Support Group

Open to all ostomates and their families. This group meets to offer aid, support, information and camaraderie. Meetings are held in the Medical Executive Conference Room at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital, 900 W. Clairemont Avenue.  For meeting dates and times, call 715-834-8976.

 


The Healing Place


Stepping Stones Through Grief

This monthly ongoing grief support group is for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one through death. Gather with others who understand and wish to offer support. Participants may attend either session that works for them.  Session are offered at 10: 30 am or 6 pm teh fourth Thursdays of each month and held at The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive in Eau Claire. Tuesday Morning / Evening Spouse Loss Support Group

The death of a spouse or life partner is difficult to handle. If you are struggling to cope with the loss of your loved one and worried about facing the future without your partner, The Healing Place offers a structured setting for participants to safely and comfortably discuss issues related to the death of their spouse. Topics include managing the emotions of grief, dealing with holidays and special days, finding hope in the challenging days ahead and caring for yourself in the midst of change.

Meditation Groups

Ever wish you had the time to begin a meditation and prayer practice for yourself? Join with others to take care of yourself in a unique way. The Healing Place offers meditation series throughout the year.   There is no cost to attend, and registration is not necessary.  All sessions will take place at The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive, Eau Claire. Sacred Habits of the Heart

Sacred Habits of the Heart is a monthly series to guide, challenge, comfort and encourage you. Each month will focus on a different “heart” related topic. Information, exercise and inspiration for increasing our awareness of and interconnectedness with others will be provided.

There is no cost to attend the sessions and registration is not required.

Living Mindfully

The Healing Place is offers a 12-week “Living Mindfully” meditation and prayer education program for people who wish to learn more about the practice of meditation and prayer. Topics addressed as part of the course include mindfulness as part of a healthy lifestyle, attitudes cultivated in meditation, choosing an anchor for meditation, how mindfulness changes our brain, mindfulness and relationships and mindfulness and our values.

New Beginnings Spouse Loss Social Support Group

This social support group is open to men and women of all ages who have lost a spouse or life partner through death, no matter when the loss occurred. The group gathers weekly to enjoy breakfast or lunch outings, Friday night fish fry, movies and plays. New members are welcome at any time. Suicide Survivor Group

The loss of someone to suicide is an extremely devastating experience for anyone to face. The Healing Place offers its guidance by hosting a Suicide Survivor Group. This group will be held on the first and third Thursday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive in Eau Claire. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

This support group, for parents who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death, meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7-8:30 pm. New members always welcome. Parents Grief Support Group

This on-going support group, for parents who have lost a child through death, meets the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Mondays of the month from 6:30-8 pm. New members always welcome.
